Dr Susanna Badyal

Osteopath

Susanna is a committed a holistic practitioner with ten years of experience in manual therapy and a newly developed osteopathic skill set. She aims to address patient concerns and empower individuals to achieve better health outcomes through education and personalised care.

Susanna’s treatment style of Indirect Osteopathy involves gentle techniques that work with the body’s natural movements and tendencies to encourage self-correction and realignment. Rather than directly manipulating the bones or joints into position, Susanna uses light pressure or positioning to subtly guide the body toward balance.

Susanna’s journey into bodywork and health began in 2016, after gaining experience alongside various practitioners and therapists on the renowned One & Only Hayman Resort in Queensland, Susanna returned to Melbourne and worked with an Osteopath, honing her massage skills.

Her passion for osteopathy was ignited when her uncle suffered a low back sports injury. Through collaboration with a colleague osteopath, her uncle returned to his sport within six months post-injury. This experience motivated Susanna to study osteopathy, leading to her graduation from Victoria University in 2024.

During her studies, Susanna volunteered extensively at Windana Rehabilitation Centre, where she developed a profound understanding of musculoskeletal pain and the myriad life factors influencing an individual’s pain experience.

Outside the clinic, Susanna enjoys nature and camping, dancing, cooking, spending time with her family, and staying cozy with her two big doggies.

Marie is an accomplished alumna of Victoria University, where she earned both a Bachelor’s of Health Science (Osteopathy) and a Master’s of Science (Osteopathy). Her journey into osteopathy began after a life-changing motor vehicle accident that left her wheelchair-bound for several months. During her recovery, Marie was profoundly inspired by the body’s ability to heal, igniting a passion for understanding the human body. She returned to her studies with a renewed purpose, embarking on a career in osteopathy.

Marie brings a deep empathy and understanding to her practice, particularly attuned to the challenges and triumphs of adjusting to life after significant physical trauma. She is dedicated to helping her patients achieve their health goals through personalized care.

Her approach to osteopathy is centered on patient empowerment. Marie tailors hands-on treatments and provides comprehensive patient education, firmly believing that osteopathic care is not a one-size-fits-all solution. Her areas of interest include chronic pain management, acute and chronic sports injuries, overuse injuries, TMJ dysfunction, and the treatment of headaches and migraines. Marie ensures her patients feel informed, supported, and in control of their health.

In addition to her osteopathic qualifications, Marie is certified in trigger point dry needling, further enhancing her ability to offer comprehensive care.
